Wellington Hosts Greenbelt Junior Golf Tour Meet
Wellington Country Club hosted the Greenbelt Junior Golf Association second 1987 season event on Tuesday June 16 with 81 golfers ages 8 to 17. Four Wellington players won trophies in the 11 year old division while Tracey Davis Barbra Ayne Lennon Janie Wilkerson Paige Davis and Bobby Wilkerson earned top finishes across age groups as competition was briefly halted by rain.

Wellington Drivers Sweep Trophy Dash at Quartz Mountain Speedway
Terry Fincher won the bomber trophy dash on Saturday June 13 at Quartz Mountain Speedway with Don O'Rear second and Craig Needham third giving Wellington drivers a clean sweep. Jerry Davis took third in the hobby class and weekly track standings list Needham at 181, O'Rear 176, Green 142, Fincher 140, O'Rear 135, Cobb 114, Needham 81. Kenneth Foster and Jacen Jeffrey tied 170 and Jim Cabbell 167 in semi-late. This marks Fincher's second trophy of the season.

Donley 4-H Dog Club to Sponsor Fun Slow Pitch Tourney
The Donley County 4-H K 9 Korp will sponsor a Men s Slow pitch tournament June 26 and 27 at the Clarendon adult field. Entry is 50 per team to raise funds for sending 4-Hers and their dogs to the State 4-H Dog Show in Bryan.
