1986 Wheat Harvest Delayed by Rain Across County
Extension Agent Don Reeves reports 70 to 85 percent of the 1986 wheat harvest completed with rainfall and humidity slowing progress. Warrick notes some fields yield 40 bushels or more per acre, but most average 20 to 25. Ground remains muddy with many fields awaiting dry spells before cutting resumes. Reeves estimates 70 to 75 percent of cotton planted or replanted, with late planting possible into June if weather cooperates.
