WPA Adds Nine Projects In Amarillo Territory May

WPA workers in the Amarillo area added nine May projects costing 229 292 dollars creating 268 33 man hours. 3 025 men and women worked on 77 WPA projects across 26 Panhandle counties. Completed work included 11 7 miles of Gray County caliche base, Childress High School improvements, and Collingsworth County road repairs.

Funeral for Mrs Scott at Mobeetie

Funeral services for Mrs. C. M. Scott of Mobeetie were held at the Baptist Church with burial in Childress. Born in Georgia in 1875, she had lived in Texas about 35 years and leaves a husband and five children Emmett Scott Amarillo Hiller Scott Oklahoma City Glenn Scott Amarillo Eddie Mae Scott Ima Scott. Earl Breeding a vocational agriculture teacher at Canadian is at home visiting relatives. The Abra Ward school closing was celebrated with a chicken and potato fry and ice cream supper. Several residents journeyed to College Station for a son’s return from two years of schooling. Hail touched crops but did not severely damage grain.
