Hay Camp Club hosts first golf tourney under new ownership
Hay Camp Country Club will hold an 18 hole Florida Scramble on Sunday June 5 at 1 30 pm with a 34 entry fee and 6 00 pm Saturday sign up deadline. Men and women may play and at least 50 players are expected as Ron Trafton and Tony Freeman lead the transfer of ownership.

Rain floods Dodson causing widespread county damage
Heavy rain to five inches drenched Dodson and surrounding areas on May 26 flooding roads from Quail to Marella and east of town. Water inundated bridges and highways on FM 1642 and FM 1439, washed out a private gas line, and washed topsoil from terraces. No buildings flooded. some fields and wheat crops were washed out, with replanting likely for affected farmers. Sheriff and county crews assisted stranded motorists and crossing flooded spans.

Church Garage Sale Planned by Local Church Group
The Church of God in Christ will hold a large garage sale on Saturday June 4 at the parsonage in the 300 block of Dallas Street. Jimmie Barber announced the event. The Young Women's Christian Council will host a bake sale with homemade pies and cakes starting a little before noon. The Women’s Department will offer handmade items such as scarves and pillow cases. Missionary Sango and Sister Bernice McCann assist. Emma Barber is local director. Josephine Anderson sponsors the bake sale. Missionary Williams from Shamrock will help.

Sammy Tabor Burial Rites At Dodson
Burial services for Sammy R. Tabor 44 of Borger will be at Dodson Cemetery Thursday June 2 at 4 00 p m Arrangements by Kelso Funeral Home. He died at Northwest Texas Hospital Amarillo on Monday May 30. Funeral service 11 00 a m Thursday in Buena Vista Baptist Church Borger with Rev Robert Lacewell officiating. He grew up in Dodson and lived in Borger 22 years. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. Survivors include his wife Edith and two sons Larry and Robert.
