Wellington News Briefs Highlight Local Courses and Events
Saturday voters will nominate a governor and other state and national officials, with local offices also on the ballot. DOLPH BRISCOE is expected to lead in the county for governor as workers campaign vigorously. A Spoon labeled Saddle Rock spurs a local mystery, and Nephrite Jade cuff links gifted to Boy Scouts in Wellington are noted. Arabian horses dominate endurance results in Canada, while a 54 degree May morning prompts questions about seasonal climate. A community center run by the Amarillo State Center for Human Development illustrates ongoing local funding needs. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Reynolds, with survivors listed and pallbearers named.
