Wellington High School announces its annual summer band camp from August 2 to 6, 8 am to 12 noon. Monday focuses on marching fundamentals and chair placement tryouts, with the rest of the week on show music and drill. Drum majors Chelsea Johnson and Ashley Wilhelm. Band director Scott Strobel welcomes inquiries at 447-0578.
All girls from K through 12 may join July 23, 2004 at Camp Mel Davis from 2:00 to 8:30 pm. Activities include games, sing songs, kite making, and rockets. The Wellington Opportunity Center invites the community to an end of summer program on Monday July 26 at 7 30 p m at the Burn Handley Community Building. All residents are welcome to attend.
Wellington ISD athletes must obtain physical exams for the 2004 05 school year. Incoming seventh ninth and tenth grade girls and boys planning to participate in any sport are required to attend. The Collingsworth Family Clinic will provide exams from 9 30 a.m. to 4 30 p.m. on July with free service for eligible students.
Collingsworth Sheriff's Office reports Thriftway Grocery burglarized between 4 and 6 am Saturday. Suspects entered via an air conditioner cut, took cash from the office.
