Collingsworth General Hospital directors met July 9 with the Citizens Advisory Board to discuss reclassifying debt with Amarillo Area Foundation as self collateralized. They urged immediate budget, tax election support, and continued Tuesday meetings. Interim administrator Jeff Barnhart reported a bioterrorism grant, monthly department budgets, staff recruitment, cafeteria changes, and GI procedure talks. A July 15 regular meeting approved change order 4 for assisted living, paid $64,698, and accepted Texas Hospital Exchange for insurance bids. The advisory board hopes to collect $200,000 by July 22 and prepare employee handbook copies for next talks. Board members and attendees included Barnhart, Sims, and local officials.
