Wellington Banquet Honors Six Citizens for Service
Top local citizens were honored at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet with six awards. Recipients include Dr. Prasanna K N Kumar Nell Wilbur Rubye Hodges Jane Sheer Olan Farris and Dollie Mae Wilson with a regional award to be announced later this year. John Chandler spoke on Setting Goals linking to his Amarillo business and community work. Dr Kumar received the Outstanding Citizen Award for nine years of service and readiness to help day or night.

Wellington Rockette basketball earns District 2 2A honors as coach Rick Pinson is named Coach of the Year. Lynette Barber and JoAnn Oatley share co MVP honors. Juda and Jana Nash join the all district team with Denise Nation on honorable mention. Barber is a senior. the others return next season. Pinson’s teams went 19 1 in league play and 21 3 overall across two years.
