Wellington appoints Jon Sessions as new City Manager
Wellington City Council selected Jon Sessions of Amarillo as the new city manager to replace 18-year veteran Glen Taylor. Sessions, 31, has worked with Panhandle Regional Planning Commission since 1989 and led water system grant work, with duties including budgeting, environmental checks, and project closeout. Marvin L Brown Home Fire Causes Extensive Loss
Volunteer firefighters battled a Wellington residence at 1108 Eleventh Street on Monday night February 17. The home of Marvin Lee Brown, his wife Lois Jean, and their two children suffered heavy interior damage mainly to the living room and bedrooms, with no injuries reported. Fire Chief Danny Gray said the cause was undetermined and Red Cross assistance was arranged.
