Quail Future Farmers Prepare for National FFA Week

The 18 Quail Future Farmers of America members plan stock projects and contests during National FFA Week. Members like Tommy Oatman, Mark White, Darrell Feemster, Julian Torrez, Johnny Hook, and others pursue pig, beef, and calf production along with dairy products and farm mechanics judging contests. Former County Resident Ira Vaughan Dies in Garland

Ira Vaughan of Garland who grew up southwest of Wellington died suddenly at work with the Dallas Fair Association on Feb 11. Born 1915 in Collingsworth County, he was married to Roberta Graham and survived by his wife, a daughter Rita Warrick of Garland, and four brothers Coy Eugene Raymond Lonnie. Funeral Friday at Williams Funeral Chapel with burial in Restlawn Memorial Cemetery.

MoorMan Company honors sales record achievers at Quincy

Mr and Mrs Richard E Nall of Wellington joined over 200 MoorMan employees from 18 states celebrated for record sales in 1469 for forage and other products. Each honoree received a personalized blazer. In Quincy visitors toured a new multi story mineral production unit set to open later this year with plant engineers present.
