Parker Drilling Co. and Pioneer Gas Products figures underscore regional energy activity, with Pioneer planning a 14 million plant in Sweetwater. High Plains staff offered Collingsworth General cooperation in purchasing, education, Medicare and insurance efforts, and inventory controls through shared expertise across 35 departments.
At a recent gathering, leaders discussed sustaining operations of the museum. Attendees included Dan Howard Jr and several board members with officers and secretarial staff noted among the participants.
A large out of town group attended the funeral of Mrs. Edna Birchfield on Monday February 8. Attendees came from Lubbock Amarillo Wichita Falls Shamrock Shamrock Vinson Sayre Okla and other nearby towns.
David Rideout of Childress Texas Parks and Wildlife announces the first spring turkey season for Collingsworth and Panhandle counties. The season runs April 17 through May 2 with a bag limit of one gobbler.
Wayne T. Cudd of Cudd Bros Wellington Texas was re-elected chairman of the Livestock Carriers Division of the Common Carrier Conference Irregular Route. Burke Inman of Hereford Texas was named vice chairman and Alex Hofferber of Guymon Oklahoma became secretary-treasurer at the annual meeting.
