WTU refunds begin for interim rate period in 1983
Utilities customers who paid interim rates in late 1983 start receiving refunds this month. Refunds will be small because higher rates covered only a short period, and some customers are not affected. WTU sought a $26 million annual increase. the PUC approved $12 million with rates effective Jan 6 1984.

Bouchelle Named All State Choir for Second Straight Year
Lewisville High School senior Dan Bouchelle earned his second consecutive All State Choir selection. He placed first chair Bass 1 as the All-State Choir and North Texas State University Symphony Orchestra performed at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in Ft Worth. Bouchelle, whose grandparents attended, has a lengthy rehearsal tradition and also plays piano.

Yeager Named Exec Director of WTSU Alumni Association
Peggy Yeager is appointed executive director of the West Texas State University Alumni Association, filling a post left vacant after Dwaine Mires’s resignation in late October. A 1969 WTSU education graduate with a 1983 master's, Yeager has led the Returning Student Program since June 1982 and belongs to AAUW Amarillo Women’s Network and the Texas Association for Community Service and Continuing Education.
