Westview Home Receives $40,000 Mabee Foundation Grant

The Mabee Foundation of Tulsa Tulsa has donated 40000 to Westview Bays Home to match local fundraising for a new cottage. The Wellington Cemetery Association notes annual drives fund care for three cemeteries and stresses donor financing is vital.

CIC Enrollment Reaches Record High at Clarendon College

Clarendon College reports a spring enrollment of 439 students, the highest in its 76 year history, with 329 on campus and 110 in off campus courses in Pampa Childress McLean and Valley High. The gain includes a 45 percent rise from last spring and 26 more on campus students compared with last year.

Dolloffs Return From Texas Church Trip

Rev. and Mrs. Steve Dolloff of Fundamental Baptist Church traveled to Arlington and Houston. In Arlington he preached at Central Baptist Church and attended services while at seminary. In Houston they attended the Texas Baptist Fellowship at Helmers Street Baptist Church and he preached one service. They returned home Saturday via Spur to pick up their two children.

Linda Garner recently moved to Wellington and starts work as a checker at City Grocery. Owner James McDanel notes Garner arrives from Spearfish South Dakota with parents Herschel and Mrs. Francis. She is a Edgemont High School alum and previously worked at a top Spearfish dinner club. Garner has a daughter Brandy Michelle two and a half.

Leedey Rancher Kel Hammack Dies of Heart Attack

Leedey Oklahoma April Hammack of Leedey 42 died of a heart attack while checking cattle Tuesday February 4. He was a prominent farmer with business interests in Bethany and a member of First United Methodist Church Leedey. Funeral Friday February 7 at 2 00 p m at Leedey church with burial in Evergreen. Survived by wife Lomas a son three daughters two brothers and three sisters.
