Coleman named veteran service officer in Collingsworth County
Dudley Coleman was appointed Veteran Service Officer for Collingsworth County by Commissioners Court on February 8, 1999. He will staff the Veteran Service office in the Collingsworth Courthouse every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Veterans may reach him at 806 256 5267, 447 5705, or contact the County Judge’s office at 447 5408 for appointments. Coleman is a Texas Tech University graduate with 21 years of military service and retired as a Lt. Colonel. County Judge Jim Forrester praised his qualifications.

Wellington State Bank settles $6 million suit
Wellington State Bank and officials settled with Margaret Osterday before the Thursday jury trial. The $6 million civil suit and countersuit were filed in U.S. District Court in November 1997 after Osterday was indicted in 1997 for hindering a secured creditor. Indictment later dismissed and collateral surrendered to the bank.

WISD Board Extends Principals Contracts in February Meeting
