West Texas Utilities joins CSW renewable energy study project
West Texas Utilities Company on February 1 announced participation in a $10 million, five year CSW renewable energy program with three other CSW utilities. The plan tests solar panels on rooftops, a 200 kilowatt photovoltaic module, wind turbines totaling 2,000 kilowatts, and solar Stirling engines to study solar wind resources across 53,000 square miles in Fort Davis area. The effort aims to back up power, reduce new line needs, and advance affordable sun and wind energy by early 21st century.

Marvin Knoll Retires From ASCS After 30 Years
New Year's Eve open house at Collingsworth County ASC offices honored Marvin Knoll's three decades with ASCS. He served as program assistant, oversaw crop acreage measurement, and witnessed shifts from ground surveying to aerial slides and computer records.
