Council hears EDC report and calls election Wellington
Wellington City Council met Monday February seven 1993 hearing an optimistic annual report from Mark Keys on the Wellington Economic Development Corp addressing 1993 operations. Disbursements totaled 29200 with 28400 from one half sales tax receipts 47500.20 and grants of 1900 to Gregory Enterprises and 2000 to Patient First. The board urged multiple small ventures and set May 7 1994 for city elections including mayor and three council seats. Standpipe refurbishment was approved with price quotes to follow. Other actions included approving last meeting minutes and bills 6477.26 and noting expected insurance rate decreases. Attendees included Mayor Brewer councilmen Grayson Green Sam McGill Powell and city officials.

Wellington Country Club Plans 1994 Course Improvements
Wellington Country Club president David Carson says improvements for 1994 include watering system upgrades tee box renovations and gazebo construction to serve as a scenic rest stop and tournament concession center. The club hosts a February 12 Valentine dance with DJ Joe Davis and plans a spring golf clinic for beginners. The Ladies Golf Association purchases new lounge furniture and aims to start regular events as weather warms. The club supports various tournaments and social events and currently lists about 125 members.

Election school draws crowd at Samnorwood library
A good crowd attends an election rules and procedures session at the Samnorwood school library Monday night.
