Panhandle Receives Rain After Mild Winter Months
After months of dry, mild weather the Panhandle got a wake up call as a near miss ice and snow event spared Wellington from a harsher storm. By Saturday noon two inches of rain eased drought while residents welcomed every drop. Valentine Tiny Tot sign up extended in Wellington event
The Helping Hands Auxiliary extends registration for the Valentine Tiny Tot in Wellington. Parents may sign up Friday Feb 5 from 3 to 4 pm at Collingsworth General Hospital or by calling Candy Smith or Marilyn Kennedy. About 15 children have registered. if gains fall short the event may be canceled. Five dollar per child fee includes one adult admission. Children are split into six age groups with prizes for the oldest four groups. birth to one year will not be judged but may participate.

The Wellington Negro school began as a two room building funded at $5,000, named Booker T Washington, serving from 1930 to integration in 1965. Junior Livestock Show showcases Collingsworth youth winners
Twelve FFA and 29 4-H members exhibited 55 animals at the Collingsworth County Junior Livestock Show in Bill Wilson Arena on Saturday. Goats lambs and hogs led by Grand Champion goats Elvis Jaimes and Grand Champion lamb Alisa Langford, with showmanship honors going to Bo Bohannon and Ty Hartman respectively.

Brenda Hofmann forwarded the case, leading to a local elderly woman in Wellington, age eighty four, receiving prescription assistance for several months.
