Winners named in livestock show at Collingsworth County Junior event
The Collingsworth County Junior Livestock Show held January 28 at the new Salt Fork youth activity barn crowned Grand Champion steer Paula Gonzales and Reserve Amanda Wood. Larrie Black won showmanship with his coal black steer as 13 steers competed. lamb Grand Champion Jennifer Carson and Reserve Krista Johnston also claimed showmanship, with Larrie Black and Johnny Shepard winning hog titles. Career Scout Seminar and Wellington Show Highlights
A Career Scout Seminar for selected high school boys was held on February 1 with speaker from Golden Spread Council. In Wellington events, youths competed in lamb hog steer shows with winners named in heavyweight light and medium divisions. Calves and show teams prepared as steers left for Fort Worth while 12 calves with nine owners competed in Fort Worth this week.

Tickets for the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet go on sale from the chamber office and local banks. The February 16 event in Burn Handley Community Center features speaker John Chandler, Amarillo car dealer and business speaker, with a beef barbecue dinner catered by Miss Piggie.
