Sarpalius Honored by Panhandle-Plains Museum Portrait
Texas State Senator Bill Sarpalius received formal recognition at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum on December 10 for his contribution to the Texas Hall of State Government. A 10 a.m. ceremony placed his portrait in the museum’s Research Center, making him the eighth legislator honored. The Texas Hall of State Government houses public papers of Texas officials and includes figures such as A M Aiken Jr and Crawford Martin. Sarpalius, born in Canyon, serves District 31 with a 29 county Panhandle region, first elected in 1981, and helped secure a $3.25 million Harrington Foundation grant for the museum’s Petroleum Wing.
