The Greenbelt District banquet at Clarendon College saw 181 attendees as Audra House named Sweetheart and April Darrow named 1st runner-up. Lacy Parks 2nd runner-up. Valley FFA wins district talent contest with Katy Browning Robin Lane and Kacy Fuston. District winners advance to Area I contests May 11 1991 in Amarillo.

Texas DPS promotes a statewide toll free 1 800 525 5555 for reporting drunken driving accidents or summoning help during the holidays while urging caution on busy highways. Turkeys protected from restrictions at South Llano River Park
Texas Parks and Wildlife officials closed a roost area at South Llano River State Park from October through April to shield wild turkeys. Superintendent Wayne Haley and wildlife biologist Jim Perkins cited the roost as crucial for 300 to 600 birds that roost there each winter, noting that disturbance drives birds to seek safer sites.
