Nativity Play at United Methodist Church This Sunday
Chittaias Proper off Pest United Methodist Church will host a Christmas program Sunday December 19 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Children direct the music and act the First Christmas story with the Junior High Sunday School Class aiding the choir. Youngest children will be angels with Mary Joseph and the Christ Child, shepherds, Wise Men, animals including a leopard, birds, cattle, and donkeys. A long cast includes Tracey Kane and many others. Passages about passive solar energy at Oklahoma State University are also noted.

Residents and staff at Thomas Nursing Center enjoyed a week of games led by Mrs. Kilgore and Mrs. Garrets, crafts in the morning, and a Sing-a-long. Bible study was led by Rev. Hayes, with The Lighthouse Quartet and Church of Christ services. Dozens of visitors from Amarillo to California stopped by, including Leitha Brownlee and Irene Brisbin, while others visited relatives in Denzil Ray, Quanah, Woodward, Shamrock, and Wheeler.

Skyrocket fans hear praise from law men and locals
Virginia Robey Bob Watson, director of law enforcement training in Lubbock, said his first 320 hour nine week class of 26 officers went well as he prepared for a second. He and Dorothy live near Shallowater and are avid Skyrocket fans. DPS Trooper Herb Duncan drew unexpected compliments from Mrs Wendell H Scrivner of Guthrie Oklahoma for issuing a speeding ticket and for Texas Highway Patrol manners.

Hill Completes OSUT at Fort Benning Infantry School
Army National Guard Pvt. Mirl C. Hill, son of Gloria Watson of Shamrock Texas, completed one Station unit training at Fort Benning. The 12 week program mixed basic combat training with advanced individual training and qualified him as a light-weapons infantryman and indirect-fire crewman.
