Weather Slows Cotton Harvest Reduces Quality This Week
Weather conditions slowed harvests as cold, fog and winds limited picking and damaged late cotton. Only 22 000 samples were classed this week, bringing the season total to 73 000 with about 25 percent still unprocessed. The predominant grade was Middling Spotted and staple lengths shifted toward 29/32 inch and shorter, signaling lower quality overall.
