On Sunday evening December 47 at 7 20 the Twilight Musical will be presented by the Musicians Club at the Methodist Church. Organ solos Reverie in D and Adoration by Mrs A Dobbs open the program with Christmas carols and a Christmas story told by Miss Claudia Willet. Cantata On To Bethlehem closes the event.
Members of the Senior B. T. S. enjoyed a Tuesday night banquet in the church basement. The green and white decorations featured program items by Oscar Elliott as toastmaster with readings, speeches, and musical numbers.
A Thursday evening recital at Miss Margille Sigler’s 100 El Paso Street studio honored mothers with a yuletide display. Children performed readings and a playlet while Miss Sigler led routines and Miss Billy Sigler sang with Miss Marwalt accompanying. guests enjoyed a festive tea and a Christmas-themed refreshment plate.
Nancy Sullivan daughter of Mr and Mrs Pink Sullivan celebrated her eighth birthday Thursday afternoon at their home. Guests listed include Jerry Carolyn Fillis Betty Lou Blanton Meval Clay Nelly Dly Slay Colleen Gow or Colleen Gow, Billy Jo Stall Sarah Love Frances Stevenson Dina Jovee Tribble Evelyn Ball Dorothy Holcomb Patrick Sullivan Killene Mosley J W French Joe Horn L F H Gribble John Beverie Nor lass Handley Ham Holton Harald Smith Parrar Robert Lewis Don Earl Morris and Gene Manzer.
Mrs Walter Starr of Quail hosted the Kil Kare Club at their last meeting. Mrs John French won high score, Mrs J S Stuart second, and Mrs Jimmie Richards took low. Attendees listed include Mrs Ce eh Legent and others. B. Mickey of Childress visited Wellington Thursday.
An enthusiastic group forms a Dramatic Club to stage plays and study dramatic work. Officers include Wini fred Payne president and Vivian Porter secretary and treasurer. Ed ward Lee Pritchard Luther Williams and Mayme Weir marshal casting. Crem Shadow one act is the current project with cast Vivian Porter Luther Williams Winifred Payne Floyd Batley Leedada Thompson Mayme Weir. Further events to be announced.
Miss Juanita Collins and George Bird wed quietly Sunday at 4 pm in Oklahoma. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Collins, was a Wellington High School student. groom is the son of Mrs. Annie Bird. They plan to live in Wellington.
Mrs Otis Ball hosted a bridal shower for Mrs Ruth Dismake Keller two weeks after her marriage to Marl Keller at Hainview. Attendees included Mrs Richards and Mrs Ball among others, gifts were many and useful, and the couple plan to live at the Keller home west of Wellington.
Mrs Cecil Leggitt hosts the Sexcelsior Club gathering at her home as members answered roll call by naming their favorite painting. Miss Inez Leach led the program with a talk on a book by Douglas. June meeting approved a Christmas party for December 2 at Callie Curtner’s home with notes for charity. Many members listed include Mildred Flusses Opal Bratton Cullie Curtner Kata Price Effir Lew Richards and hostesses.
Circle No 4 of the M Society of the Beprist Ch with Mrs Whittington met December 11 with seven members present. The devotional was led by Mrs Whittington and the mission study by Mire Wynn focused on missionary work among the Indiana.
A household collection presents roast meat and side dish guidance from Mrs. WooAL Porter and others. It includes pond roast details with pepper ginger and tomatoes, notes on browning, and a method for Carmelized Sweet Potatoes with a brown sugar syrup. Cauliflower with a rich cream sauce rounds out the menu.
Legion Auxiliary plans a Sunday social and a Friday covered dish gathering to fund welfare work for veterans. They discuss Christmas clothing drives and non-perishable food, plus a New Year dance to raise funds. Members listed include Harper, Copreyten, Clay, Dan eon, Pryor, Beasty, O'Neil, and Augusther rod.
