Wellington State Bank History and Ownership Change
The Wellington State Bank, chartered in 1906, merged with First National Bank of Wellington in 1958, and was sold in 1982 to Mike Stinson and O L Cooper. Later transfers led to Independent BankShares, Inc. of Abilene owning the bank while staff remained unchanged and familiar faces persisted.

Ribbon Cutting Marks Bank Welcome in Wellington
