Quail Lions held a Christmas party December 4 at the school cafeteria. Members approved sponsoring a Peewee basketball tournament on February 4 5 and 6 with James Stavenhagen presiding. A spice and rice party honored Miss Brenda Childers on Saturday December 2 in the Heritage room. She is the fiancee of Monte Ferguson of Grover. John Alf Thomas and Mrs Delbert White attended. Mrs Chauveaux Named Sweetheart of Delta Sigma Phi Chapter
Mrs Doug Chauveaux of McCamey has been chosen as the Sweetheart of the Omicron Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and will represent her sorority at the annual Sweetheart event in February. She earned a B S in elementary education from West Texas State University in 1971 and teaches physical education for grades 5 to 8 in McCamey while also coaching junior high girls basketball. Her husband, a coach and teacher at McCamey High School, coaches the girls’ basketball team and teaches health. Previously Becky Brewer and a Zeta Tau Alpha member, she was a cheerleader for three years in college.
