AEP shows dangers of electricity at Wellington demo
Doug Rosenquist presented an AEP electric arc demonstration at Wellington Volunteer Fire Department in Manitoba in August to educate firemen and law enforcement on electrical hazards at wrecks and fires. He urged scene assessment, warned that downed wires, uninsulated lines, and energized objects pose immediate danger. He described electricity speed, the impossibility of letting go if energized, and that even 120/240 volt lines can cause fatal harm. He emphasized treating all wires as energized and the need to assess the path to ground to avoid becoming part of the circuit.
