Wellington I S Satellite Center announces new features at the Country Store during Collingsworth County Fair. Toni Wright says only a few booth spaces remain and will not last long. Booths open Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to noon at the American Legion Building.
Band Parents will not meet Monday September 2 according to Brenda Barton who coordinates the group that supports and raises funds for the three Wellington Bands. Parents with children in a band are urged to watch for the first meeting of the school year and help clean up Wellington.
Richard Burba and Vernita Shrubs of Wellington graduated from Texas State Technical Institute at the Amarillo Civic Center on August 20. Burba earned an associate degree in computer electronics technology while Shrubs received a certificate in technical office training.
Alf Wellington reminds seventh graders who plan to play football this fall to visit Coach Don Beck at the high school football field for equipment fitting and to pick up physical forms. Fittings are at 2 p.m. on Thursday August 29 and 2 p.m. on Friday August 30. The first workout for those cleared is 8 a.m. September 3, and players without uniforms or physicals may not practice or suit up, with the season opener set for September 12.
