Wellington Social News Full of Local Visitors

A wealth of Wellington social notes record visits and greetings from J. Norris of Childress to Dorothy Forbis and Marguerite Walling, Montague friends in Hollis and Wichita Falls, and relatives from Dallas to Memphis. Numerous engagements include Rev. J. M. Johnston conducting revival in McLean and J. T. Hicks visiting from Memphis.

Weekend visitors and travels around Shamrock area

Miss Ve Maddox of Shamrock and Miss Allie Traweck of Matador spent time with relatives. Wells, Campbell, and Templeton families hosted and visited in Shamrock. many residents traveled to Memphis, Austin, Chicago, Lubbock, Altus and Canadian for visits and events.

Mr and Mrs Herschel Combs and child visited in Shamrock Sunday. Mrs S G Henry and children Martha Jean and Silas Jr returned Friday from Chicago where they visited the World Fair. Mrs A Billings and son Billy Joe of Nocona guests of L Z Cone this week. John Ben Castleberry and Robert Howard go to Rhome to visit grandparents. Dick Huggins of Childress visited here early week. Tobe Deahl and Dodsonville couple visited their son Jack and wife Wednesday. Albert Gatlin guests of J H Bland in Hollis Sunday. Bryan Truitt of Carnegie Oklahoma guests of Rev and Mrs W Deatherage. R L Gillentine and son Jimmie returned from Colorado vacationing two weeks. Born to J Price Dukeminier of Roswell NM a baby boy J Price Jr eight and a half pounds. Mrs Dukeminier and baby resting well with W W Sage. Minister Dwain Jones and wife of Anson guests of W W Monroe Tuesday. Minister Jones is pastor of the Church of Christ of Anson. Mr and Mrs N C Williams and Mr and Mrs Clarence Williams and baby of Wichita Falls visited W W Monroe last weekend. Lafayette Hughes of Denver here this week on estate matters in the county. C L Hasie and Lee Grage and daughter Jeannette returned from Chicago World’s Fair Monday. Jack Jarrell did business in Memphis Saturday. Mr and Mrs Brewer and children of Abernathy visiting George Brewer and family this week. I T Goodnight and Bob Goodnight took C Hartman to Sweetwater Saturday. Hartman stayed. Others returned Monday.
