Property value up taxes down in Collingsworth County plan
Collingsworth County Commissioners moved to lower the 1998 99 tax rate after the County Appraisal District reported property values up by 26.92 dollars and 6997 percent from last year. The proposal could boost total revenues by two percent, with individual bills rising or falling depending on relative value changes. Judge Jim Forrester noted only tax rates change if property values rise, and a $14,000 county revenue increase is anticipated next year. A public hearing on the new rate is set for August 24, 1998 at 9 30 a m.
