Youth of 2 Churches Give Musical Here
A youth musical titled There's a Reason will be presented by youths from First Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church. Performances run August 18 in the morning at First Baptist, 7 p.m. at First United Methodist, then August 21 in Ft Worth at Riverside Baptist, August 22 after a Six Flags visit, and August 27 at Merrihearts luncheon. Directors are Ronald Long and Charlotte Myrick with Shirley Howard as pianist.

THEOS Names Leader and Changes Meeting Date
Theos of First United Methodist Church met on Tuesday July 9 in the church fellowship hall to share thoughts on widowhood. The group voted to move meetings to the third Tuesday each month to boost attendance and Nadine Birchfield was chosen as chapter leader. Attendees included Mrs Birthfield Florence DeArmond Delma Jesse Dollie Mae Wilson Vanesta Null Dr Tom Thomson and Larry Adams. The next meeting is Tuesday August 20 at 7 30 p m in the United Methodist Fellowship Hall.

The Glen Davis United Methodist Church of Dozier will hold revival services August 18 through 21 with 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship and 7:30 p.m. services Sunday to Wednesday. Evangelist Rev Steve Venable will lead the meetings aided by song leader Richie Brotherton and local musicians. The revival marks a first in years and invites Wellington-area friends to attend.

Abundant Life Fellowship at 101 9th Street will host an area wide prayer breakfast on Saturday August 19. Rev Dan Denissen says people from many churches will gather to pray for revival with coffee and donuts at 9 a.m. Worship begins at 10 with musicians from local churches leading. Speakers include John Eason of Christ for the Nations Institute and Dan Collum of Faith Missionary Baptist Church Childress.

Play Day Set for August 20 in VFW Arena
Extension Agent Don Reeves announced a new date for the 4 H Club Play Day. It will be Tuesday August 20 at the regular time in the VFW arena. This will be the last play day of the 1985 season as rain canceled the August 13 session.
