Bush Garza tour seeks vote on Texas tax cut amendment
Gov George W Bush and Secretary Tony Garza urge Texans to vote August 9 on a constitutional amendment to cut school property taxes by about 140 dollars a year and lift the homestead exemption from 5000 to 15000. The plan could free funds for a 5 percent pay raise for roughly 60,000 of Texas 240,000 teachers.
