Wellington teen ranked top 20 in Miss Teen of Texas pageant
Nicole Keller a 17 year old Wellington girl placed in the top 20 finalists of the Miss Teen of Texas pageant held in Austin at Burger Center Sunday. She is active in 4-H and band and exhibited calves and bake entries while earning a Skyrocket Spirit award.

Tennison Heads To Language Institute For Six Month Study
Lt. Comdr. Steve Tennison and his family will depart Norfolk, Virginia, for Monterey, California, to attend the U S Defense Language Institute for six months. The course equals a bachelor degree in Spanish with six daily class hours, five days weekly, ending in linguist certification. Afterward he reports to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, for a two year assignment with the U S Navy. Tennison has served ten years and earned the Navy Achievement and Navy Commendation Medals.
