Gulf Refining Company promotes a free booklet titled 15 Ways to Save Gasoline Money. Advertisements claim motorists lost gallons of gasoline due to parking and driving habits, offering tips on self-starter use, gears, and acceleration to improve mileage. Other brief notes mention Arthur Brown’s hospitalized leg fracture and twin sons born to Kansas City neighbors.
Sunday School and church were well attended. Juniors presented a program directed by Mrs. Winfield White with multiple child participants. Several local residents and guests were mentioned visiting or travelling, including families and relatives.
Fr iday Kiwanis Club dog show in Cicero Smith Lumber Yard area features a large variety of breeds. Top prize goes to "Old Nig" a 92 pound black Pekingese owned by Luther McPherson for largest dog. Judges faced a close contest with many well trained dogs and several dogs led by Miss Jewell Sugg and others. Committee members include Ben Hurst and C C Bishop with Joe Thompson assisting.
Makers of Camay and Crisco promotions offer prizes including a $1000 annual income for a ten word Camay slogan and a Rogers silver serving set gift with Crisco and Oxydol box top offers through local grocers and Procter and Gamble representatives.

The State of Texas requires the sheriff or constable to summon Belle Young Elbert Smith Vera Bowen and husband Hubert Bowen Verna Goforth and husband Frank Goforth Annie Guinnes and husband Smith Guinnes by weekly publication for four weeks before the return day. The notice directs appearance at the next District Court term in Collingsworth County at the Wellington courthouse on the second Monday in November.
