About 308 attendees toured the building, praised its decor and facilities, and thanked the late Harry L Woods, the Wellington Elks Club, Youth of Wellington and local officials for bringing the project to fruition.

A World War I veteran he held church and civic roles including VFW commander and school board member. He is survived by his widow Hilda a son Lynn Angela Sue and siblings.
