First Ordination In One Hundred Years In Wellington
The First Methodist Church of Wellington will ordain Rev. Kenneth L. Hathaway in its own sanctuary for the first time in a century. Rev. Hathaway, associate pastor, will be ordained by Rev. Dr. W McFerrin Stowe on Sunday June 18 1972 at 7:30 p.m. The event marks a rare departure from the usual annual conference setting. Hathaway, son of Addison and Helen Hathaway, grew up in western Kansas and has served in Linwood and Edgerton before joining Wellington. He and his wife Janet have a three month old daughter Joy Christine.
