Special correspondence reports direct from Thunder Mountain with terse notes on local events and notable happenings as gathered by the Came News team.
Special correspondence from Warren Idaho reports the Dewey property’s ten stamp mill running around the clock with heavy pay rolls and rich rock finds near Rainbow Mountain. New strikes on Mule Creek and the Gold King group near Rainbow attract prospectors while a Gem hotel ball draws a large camp crowd with Hazel Patterson entertaining.
Martin Carran reports on the Thunder Mountain group in Thunder Mountain Mining District Idaho. He details a vast ore body 3000 feet long and up to 150 feet wide exposing 1,500,000 tons of ore with high values, including a rich shoot on surface yielding up to 2,000 gold and silver ounces from 40 feet. He projects 1000 tons daily with a 60 cent per ton mining cost and a planned ten-stamp mill due by December 1, enabling substantial monthly returns.
The Hay Fever Association would use Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption to prevent its collapse, as it allegedly cures asthma and a range of throat and lung troubles. The ad claims vast success against consumption, pneumonia, bronchitis, grip, croup, and whooping cough with a guarantee and trial bottles at Davia Drug Co. Also notes brushes at Moyer's.
A Chicago dispatch outlines plans for an 800 mile Eureka and Eastern railroad linking the Northern Pacific in Idaho to Eureka California with connections to the Southern Pacific and Oregon Short Line. Promoters include Senator Clark George Proctor Lord Thurlow and financiers Hill and Harriman. Construction could begin soon and Eureka is pitched as a rival Pacific coast port, to drive inland development through Idaho Nevada and Oregon, with Weiser Idaho as a junction point and bond elections expected within about 60 days. Washington report notes Townsend promotes silver dollar use in the Philippines while cautioning gold currency abroad.
Jake Landsman urges the Heath District to proceed with an opening that would benefit Weiser, arguing the plan serves local welfare and economic interests. He contends the move would enhance services and community prospects.
J Landeman of Bee Hive urges immediate appeal to Lewis Hall to reopen the Weiser smelter. He cites abundant ore from Heath district near Weiser and Thunder Mountain, with mines such as Craker Jack, Never Sweat, Dewey, Hobson, Railroad, Climax, Maxwelton, and Heath Mining Co, all yielding copper and gold. He notes four to five mines already developed and plans for large scale operations, stressing local demand and long term trade.

The 67 year old man from Provo Utah, with eight children and a poor family, became obsessed with religion after an Adventist revival and will receive treatment. The Weiser Irrigation District board orders final steps before a bond election to buy and enlarge the Galloway ditch. Engineer Utter will map land lots and allocate purchase costs by benefit. A state engineer must approve the land roll and ditch expansion cost estimates. A new survey of the present ditch and cost for increasing capacity to 8 000 inches will be prepared for approval.
