Thunder Mountain Miner Claims Big Strike Near Rainbow Peak
Virgil Richardson arrived in Boise reporting a promising prospect on a tributary of Monumental Creek about 10 miles below Thunder Mountain. He describes thick mica schist ore with rich gold values and possible cobalt and nickel indications, plus a 200 foot wide vein potentially extending 2000 feet deep. Richardson owns three Rainbow Peak claims and presented assay notes showing gold values around 78.21 dollars per ton, while further assaying was planned. He notes the district remains largely unprospected and potential big findings may lie ahead.
