Numerous readers from Weiser Idaho respond to the Signal offer with letters in 1908. Children praise Vial jewelry, Cordell furnishings, Edwards and Nelson painters, Vendome Hotel, Felthouse groceries, Summercamps and other local shops, praising goods and value.
The Signal announces January prizes for letters answering which advertiser’s ad attracted attention. Entries split by age 6 to under 9 and 9 to 12 with $2.50 prizes each. Every participant receives a present when their letter is received, and writers may choose any issue.

In Weiser Signal May exam, the county will award twenty dollars and a silver medal to the student with the highest average if an adult family member holds a paid subscription. If multiple students tie, the prize will be divided.
