Denver hotel collapse leaves many dead and injured

A Denver hotel disaster killed and injured numerous guests and staff when a blast caused the building to collapse and flames to engulf the area. Firefighters labored amid dense smoke as rescuers pulled survivors from the wreckage and searched for others still buried.

Telegraph Line to Nicaragua Open in Part

Telegraph line completed through Chantalls to Tuna on the Such fields river, but not yet opened to the public. A South Dakota company, led by J Lasher, will operate under a 20 year contract to run steamship service along Nicaragua's Caribbean coast, carrying mail and freeing land for government use.
