Ad T Tuttle arrives with samples from Meadows where Rock Flat Milling Co owns four new claims. A 500-foot tunnel is planned to access high grade free milling ore. A 100-ton cyanide plant may be erected next spring at the tunnel mouth. Directors include Butler Blake Coon Webb and Merritt of Meadows.
The Wallace meeting approved the Jisione County Democratic ticket with nominees across sheriff treasurer probate judge and district representatives. Charles Hiem chaired the convention with J W Conatan as secretary, pledging support for national and state nominees and criticizing Republican governance while defending settler rights and mining industry needs.
The Canyon County Democrats held a harmonious convention at Emmett naming a ticket headed by Senator W. W. Snell of Nampa. Candidates include O. W. Wilsen of Franklin for Representative M. A. D H Roberson of Lewiston has leased the Commercial hotel in Moscow and landlord Frank Comstock must vacate within 30 days. Elmer Des Volgne, a local capitalist, bought the building for 15000 as an investment. New furnishings raise the investment to about 14000, with rental potential of 16000 per year.

Heard from Arai, Robert Hess and James E Chester, the two horse thieves who escaped from the jail at Vale Oregon, and who had an encounter with Sheriff Lawrence of Vale, at Polson, at the foot of Flathead lake, have been heard of again. They stopped at Geof Ross near Yantic Montana, 16 miles east of Hayre, asked for lunch, then left. Later two fine horses were stolen from Ross's ranch. it is suspected the same men took them. Sheriff Lawrence of Yale Oregon offers a $200 reward. Ross adds another $200 for the horse thefts
On West Main Mrs G M Waterhouse entertained several lady friends in honor of Mrs W B Kurtz with refreshments. Thursday afternoon Mrs C B Shirley hosted a luncheon on State Street for Mrs Kurtz. Decorations were pretty and well arranged. Mrs Kurtz and daughter Thuzel departed for Dallas yesterday morning.

The third annual Oregon State Irrigation Association convention begins Monday morning September 19 at 10 oclock in the Ontario opera house. The three day program includes a banquet at Arcadia groves and a tour to the Galt hatchery. Speakers include Governor Chamberlain, A Bennett of Oregon Development League, J N Wil Jemena, Sanator H H Mitchell, and others, with awards for best local fruit display and over $1000 for Ontario merchants supporting produce display from Malheur County.
Ruth Hudelaon, young daughter of Jas A Hudelaon, died in Cambridge on Wednesday morning after a prolonged illness from typhoid fever. The body was brought to Weiser for burial beside her mother, who died in this city a little over two years ago. Friends of the family extend sympathy.
