The known B. B. claims and other ground form a rich Idaho ore field with plans for immediate plant setup and extensive development. The campaign includes Mormonism, politics, and anticipated rally plans in Lewiston with Spokane participants.

Cranberry growing on Mr. Bakers acre Near Emmett

An Emmett area school opened yesterday with a cranberry patch experiment. Mr. Baker shows a hardy crop now about one third grown with berries set for Thanksgiving sauce. He aims to supply Emmett and nearby areas next year, noting this patch is the region’s only cranberry bed.

Fire Sweeps Through Gom Idaho Business District

A Thursday fire in Wallage Idaho destroyed nearly 100 buildings in Gom's business area and damaged many homes in the surrounding residential district. Estimated losses run around 150000 as firefighters battled the blaze into the night.

Trail chase narrows escapees Hess and Chester

Sheriff Charles Manley received word that J B Lawrence of Malheur County Oregon and his posse were nearing Hess and Chester the two escaped prisoners. Last night he was within 10 to 15 miles of them after crossing the river below Thompson Falls. They are believed to be unable to find a trail and are strangers in the country.

The groom previously worked at Weiser Mercantile Co and the bride came from Sumpter last spring. School Opens With Large Attendance in Weiser

The regular school year began in Weiser yesterday with strong turnout and expected higher enrollment than in past years. Officials list supervisors and teachers including Superintendent J M Martin, Miss Lee for primary on West Side, Miss Converss for second and third, Miss McGrew Batavia Plan Asst, Miss Ford at East Side High School, and graded teachers H L Hayden, Miss Jackson, Miss Phelps, Miss Wright, and Miss Laymaster for various grades.

Snake River Bridge Under Swift Construction Progress

The contractor Bacon pushes the Snake River bridge work with haste. Three piers are finished two at the ends and one in the river, with a fourth being completed. Two more piers to be built. River depth now about nine feet, a foot lower than last year. Steel caissons allow easy concrete placement on bedrock, driven and locked for water-tight sections, enabling uninterrupted progress.
