Last Tuesday at Lewiston Melville Scott for Idaho filed on 9 850 75 acres in township 39 north 4 east. The land is valuable timber land in Pierce county and the state's priority filing expired Tuesday at 4 30 p m. Forty people waited at the land office ready to file on lands in townships 39 4 east 39 2 east 39 1 west and 40 4 went. State filings were made the night of the sixty day limit but no further filings were planned. Many in line oppose state action and contend filings may conflict with homestead applications filed Wednesday. It is reported residents will contest on grounds homesites already established by homesteaders.
