Eye Injury at Campbell Mine Reported by White Bird Driver

Dan Bell of the White Bird stage relays a tragic mine accident at Campbell mine on the Snake river below Pittsburg Landing reported by the Grangeville Standard. Miner N J Smith, 23 or 24, was shot-firing when a spark from a pipe cap exploded. He lost sight in one eye and was likely to remain blind. A telegram was sent to Dakota on Wednesday.
