Wordenhoff Mine District Prospects In Snowbound Winter Work

Charles W. Luck, mining engineer, reports from the Big Creek Mining District on fresh free gold ore samples from the Wordenhoff and Werdenhoff mines. He notes 80 feet of shaft development, two shifts driving toward the ledge, and a 800 feet tunnel at Independent mine. Winter work continues but wagon road access is blocked by heavy snow and supplies are hard to truck in. Church Courts Assert Authority Over Land Dispute

In a Smoot era case, church courts replaced state civil courts in a land matter in Monroe ward Utah. Cora Birdsall, excommunicated for refusing to deed land to Leavitt, faced church rulings and expulsion after prolonged notices from church authorities.

Lost an Arm at a Saw Mill Near White Bird

Sidney Paul, a young man living near White Bird, lost his left arm last week in Calvin's saw mill. His arm was caught by a set screw and crushed, leading to amputation above the elbow by Dr. Foskett due to blood poisoning fears. He remains in serious condition.

Idaho Legislature convenes with Steeves presiding

Lieutenant Governor Steeves of Weiser called the Idaho Senate to order last Tuesday and the chamber organized swiftly. The House took three days to organize with J. Frank Hunt of Bannock as speaker and M. M. Mackey of Midvale as sergeant at arms. Bills include a polygamy measure and a $50,000 expense appropriation for the session. Committees for Senator Smith include privileges and elections, education, county boundaries, and printing.

Four Idaho Postmasters Accused Of Polygamy In Doltgant

Washington report states four Idaho postmasters are practicing polygamy, based on Postoffice Inspector Fosnes findings sent to the Senate. Named are Lottiried Keebler of Raymond in Lake County with two wives, Anne O C Lilkenquiet related to Polsiareh Lilkenquist of the Mormon church, Hevsewhy Myinen a postmaster, and Proosuredon in Mannowl county with multiple marriages.

Death of Olof Sorrenson Near Vale

The body of Olof Sorrenson, who died near Vale, arrived in the city Thursday afternoon and was taken to Council for burial. His widow and relatives accompanied the retinue, including C. E. Wickland and John E. Johnson of Vale. Sorrenson, a long-time resident, died after pneumonia while visiting near Vale. He leaves a twin brother Aaron Sorrenson in Monroe City, Utah.

Fisher, a German man about 70, will be buried at Meadows pending funeral arrangements. a letter in German was unreadable by the jury.
