A. Sifers, large hearted Idaho pioneer from Soldier in the Camas Prairie country, visits Weiser en route home from Spokane after 40 years. He recalls mining with A. B. Anderson and regrets missing a visit with his partner at Hot Lakes. He crossed to Idaho in 1863 and recalls the valley’s early days with Indians. He recently returned from St. Louis and traveled to Spokane, enjoying life in his later years.

At a Boise meeting of the state horticultural board the year’s audit was presented and Gipson's secretary report approved before his resignation. A F Hitt was elected to succeed him with H M Brennan as assistant, offices to be in the Odd Fellows building in Boise. The board praised the choice as wise and fitting.
