A Western Memoir of Love and a Miner Key

A Wisconsin reminiscence unfolds from childhood to adult choice. Laura recalls a brave miner Paul Heath who gifts a gold key and vows, a rival romance with John Levering, a forged check crisis, a daring remedy, and a return to rightful love with Paul after years apart. The tale blends memory, wealth, and moral testing in a late 19th century setting.
