A Letter Prom Mexico The Flower Festival of Viernes de Dolores
Special correspondence from Musico describes Mexico’s flower festival across cities from Mexico City along the Viga canal. The piece details the Paseo de las Flores, riverine processions, gondola like boats, lavish dress, flirtations, and the rise of Holy Week effigies. It also recounts the floating chinampas gardens, Aztec origins, and the shift from floating to earthbound plots while highlighting colonial church privileges and local customs.
