Blakiston explores Saskatchewan Valley to Edmonton route

Captain Blakiston of the British Royal Artillery reports on exploration of the Hudson’s Bay territories and a possible steamboat ascent of the Saskatchewan to Edmonton. He notes Grand Rapids shoal, water levels, and high water timing, plus wagon wheel and portage cautions, and passes through the Kootanais region. A separate Medina item recounts a cow choking incident cured by a broomstick, later removed.
