Reports from a Prussian hospital describe ice treatment curing small-pox. A delirious patient escaped into a two foot snow garden and woke with fever subsiding. by week’s end all patients recovered after low ward temperatures and small ice applications.
A musician named Bruno died January 22 after receiving an electric shock from the lighting apparatus at the Holte Theatre in Aston Birmingham. The theatre uses one powerful battery to light the venue and grounds, with live wires passing over the orchestra. After leaving the orchestra he touched the wires, was rendered insensible, and died shortly after.
A deer was found caught high in a tree near Monkstown in Fannin County. Rangers or locals tracked the animal, managed to secure it, and release followed after it was freed from the horns that had become caught in the branches.
