In Oakland on May 30 1885 a drunken man Frank Kampmier shot and killed May Pinkham aboard a Southern Pacific train near Rocklin as the party traveled to New York. The victim was 14 year old May Pinkham. Dr. Pinkham sues SP for 50000 damages alleging the company sold a ticket to a intoxicated man whose state endangered other passengers. General A L Hart represents the plaintiff.
United States Commissioners probing Union Pacific Railway affairs resumed public session in Boston. They adjourn to meet in Omaha on June 20 with preliminary Sioux City exam by David T. Little between now and then. They expect to depart Omaha June 5 for San Francisco to convene there by August 1.
